2. Scope

This policy applies to the website investcad.com. We publish informational and educational content about AI-assisted investment analysis methods and market research practices. We do not provide personalized investment advice and do not sell financial products through this site.

3. Information we process

  • Contact form data: name, email address, subject, and message.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referrer URL, and access time (server logs).
  • Cookies: consent state (cookieConsent) and — with consent — analytics and advertising cookies.

4. Purposes and legal bases

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), we collect, use, and disclose personal information for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, and we identify those purposes. For transparency aligned with GDPR Article 6-style bases (where that framework is relevant to visitors):

  • Responding to enquiries: performance of a request / legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(b) or 6(1)(f) GDPR analogue; PIPEDA appropriate purpose.
  • Site security and operation: legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f); PIPEDA appropriate purpose.
  • Analytics and advertising (e.g. Google Analytics / AdSense): consent — Art. 6(1)(a); obtained via the cookie banner.
  • Legal obligations: Art. 6(1)(c) where a law requires retention or disclosure.

5. Recipients and transfers

Information may be processed by hosting providers and by Google LLC (for example Analytics or AdSense) under their terms. Transfers outside Canada may occur with contractual and organizational safeguards appropriate to the risk. We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention

  • Contact messages: generally up to 24 months after resolution, or longer if required by law.
  • Server logs: typically up to 12 months for security and operations.
  • Cookie consent records: until withdrawal or clearing of localStorage.

7. Your rights

Subject to PIPEDA and applicable law, you may request access to and correction of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based (without affecting prior lawful processing).
